Learn about growing food
Nourish offers hands-on immersion learning in the garden and kitchen for groups, setting the foundation for a larger discussion: where does our food come from?
This wellness opportunity is great for team building!
Both tour styles have the following objectives:
- Learning about our food system
- The importance of local and sustainable farming practices
- Highlighting multiple areas of health to address overall wellness
- Cooking skills
- Team building
For an additional fee, Nourish can provide coffee and breakfast to enjoy prior to getting down in the dirt, and/or additional food can be prepared and delivered to a local shelter
(June - August)
A group up to 12 people meet and tour our Educational Urban Farm, learn about growing food, and harvest produce. The produce is then brought to Nourish's Certified Commercial Kitchen to prepare a meal with the guidance of Nourish staff. The program is concluded with a meal enjoyed with one another.
(June - October)
A group of up to 35 people will tour Springdale Farm (largest CSA farm in Wisconsin). The group will learn about sustainable farming practices, receive a history and tour of the farm, then dig into some farm chores and harvesting. For groups larger than 12, a majority of the food will be served community dinner style with cooking demonstrations and discussion while enjoying a meal together. A sample CSA box from Springdale will be available to large groups for a fee.
